Alright already!!! The weather here in Michigan has really been sucking and is making it difficult to truly enjoy boating. If its sunny, its windy as hell. Its been so windy at times, it blows the flippin mulch out of our landscaping. If the wind is gone the rain, clouds, and cold temps are here. Haven't we been waiting long enough for this crap weather to change?????? We need all the other fortunate people that are able to boat to please do a weather dance for us sorry losers here in Michigan.

Sorry for ranting, but I do feel a little better.

You gotta pick your days this time of year. We have been out 3 times already since the boat was launched
May 3rd. Canvas has been up, but it's still boating !

We did get out once for about an hour last week. Dropped it in Spring lake. Its just frustrating having a new boat and the weather only allowing me to be soooooo selective. I love the teasing the weather does here. Two days of 80 degrees (Im out of town for business) and then right back to a 54 degree weekend.

feeling your pain on this side of the pond. I was down at the marina this weekend, first time i've seen whitecaps inside the breaker wall, and water was washing over the dock. Gave me an oppurtunity to clean below, I even had to unzip the window to let some of the wind through the cockpit and alleviate some of the pressure.
Nex few days and weekend knot looking well at all. Image Image Image

I'm not too far away from you Michigan guys and I agree this spring has been very wet so far.

My neighbours (house neighbours) must think my wife and I are nuts. We need to remove our mooring cover and get our camper top on our boat up so we can enjoy this coming weekends Victoria Day holiday were we plan to boat over to Michigan. So, since I'm running out of days before this weekend we decided to wash our camper top in our garage (its raining) in my sons inflatable pool. Then we take the camper top into our backyard (its still rainy cats and dogs) to spray all the soap off. Then we hang the camper top on lines in our garage (still raining) to help dry. This morning (still raining out) we move the camper top from our garage into our living room and place it over our leather couch to let it fully dry. This evening we will apply the waterproofing. Bet it will still be raining!

Now we need good boating weather for this weekend.......

Mike.

Our biggest problem this year has been wind! I work a lot so my boating time is limited already....having weather cut into it sucks even more. We have had more 15-25mph wind days this year than I can ever remember.

I agree with the wind being a problem. I put in for the first time this season Sunday, came into my marina and a Northwest wind was blowing whitecaps into my marina. No one else was at the marina but my wife. It took five tries to back into a slip I've backed into literally hundreds of times. I came in successfully, so I guess that is all that's important. I thought it would calm down around sunset so we could go for a late cruise, but it blew all night long! Hopefully better times are coming. Dan
