Wow! I hope your recovery goes well.

Weather looks like it is shaping up to be great here (finally!). We are planning to go down to Barren River Lake in Glasgow, KY. Heard reports that lake is 22 feet above normal summer pool--so some of our travel partners are a little concerned about debris, etc. I have been killing myself to get ready for this weekend, so I am bound and determined to be spending most of it sitting on the boat and relaxing. I don't care if we drive 100 yards away from the marina and drop anchor. I'm ready for boat season! Be safe and have a great weekend all!

Ouch! Rest up and get better. Sounds like some quiet time on the boat a few weeks from now should be listed on your doctor's orders. Don't even have to leave the docks....just sit, relax, and take in the peacefulness that you find on the water. All in seriousness though, hope you're better and back on the water soon. And don't rush it...the boat will still be waiting for you.

Yeah, the weather forecast looks good for once on a Memorial Day weekend. However, now the river is rapidly rising again. I left town on Tuesday with the river at 0.5' below flood stage and a forecast to drop to 1' below flood stage by the weekend. I return last night to find the river 1.5' above flood stage and forecasted to be a full 2' above by Sunday/Monday. Seriously, a 3' swing in less than a week? I'm at one of widest points on the Mississippi. That's a lot of water to get that river to rise 3' in less than a week. That kind of movement will surely stir up some serious debris. If it aint one thing around here, it's another.

I need to get my boat on the water to make sure everything is working properly after winter storage. I had new u-joints put in this winter, so I would like to test it out. My parents are borrowing the boat in a couple weeks for their 1st of 3 annual trips to LOTO. I may have to check on Rathbun or Mark Twain to see if either of those lakes are navigable just to check everything out. If not, then it looks like Papa will get to blow the cobwebs out of the boat in LOTO rather than me doing it for him. Well, at least the boat looks good.

Arrived in Michigan on Tuesday to put boat in. It started raining on Wed. and pretty much hasn't stopped. Marina is way behind due to cold, wet month of May. Now it looks like earliest it could go in would be late Tuesday or more likely Wednesday. Meanwhile, I'm twiddling my thumbs while today's high is 50! More rain tomorrow. Trying to decide if I should wait it out or come back. I love boating!

rjrose,

If you don't mind me asking, where is your home port on Lake St.Clair?

Last weekend we ran our boat over to Metro Beach on Friday evening and returned back to the Canadian side of Lake St.Clair on Sunday afternoon. Monday had squall warnings out for the lake. We were surprised at how much boat traffic there was coming into and out of Metro, lots of boats.

The front basin at Metro was almost half full with boats for Saturday night.

Mike.

here's to a speedy recovery! Doubt we make it off the dock this weekend due to weather on this side of Lake Michigan!

 Mine's up on blocks waiting to find out what happened when I overheated.....Fortunately, my old many keeps his 2000-240 Signature (Chaparral) two slips up from me. He doesn't take it out unless I'm at the helm. The weekend isn't a total wash.......

Update. I had a dead sea water pump. She's all fixed and running fine. Just in time to be in the water this weekend.

Hey Beyond the Blue,
You rest up there will be plenty of time once you have recovered for boating. Get well soon, best of luck to you and your family
