Some things are worth paying someone else to deal with....this may be one of them.
If it's like it is on my 2004 Sundowner, it might not be such a big job to remove the panel. It basically hangs on 2 "hooks" and it screwed down only on the lower edge ( 2 screws through stainless tabs). After taking the screws out, thwe whole panel could be lifted off.
