Anyone have these on an 03 Horizon 180 or similar with 4.3GL engine? Which is better Smart tabs or hydrofoil? Also, are they even needed or worth it? What would be a good place to mount the Smart Tabs as the ladder gets in the way? Thanks.

Smart tabs!! You want to mount the tabs as far out as possable. Go to the Smart Tab web site and see the "docs" on this.

Hydrofoil. Cheaper and very effective on your size boat.

I'd be surprised if you need either - Do you have problems getting on a plane now?

My old 18' er (1992 4.3L Merc) was that way. I just put the cooler in the bow, and that kept most of the peeps there. No prob's after that! Are you having the same issues with bow-rise, or other more detailed problems.

Neither. Try a 4 blade prop to reduce wandering and increase hole shot as well as reducing the speed required to stay on plane.

Agree, Prop it right, no worries. Fool-Foils are just that.......Similar to Snake-Oils.......
