I have had an intermittent issue where my trim UP &/or DOWN stops working. What I realized is that I have to have someone reach in the compartment and hold the non-functioning trim relay in place for it to work. This issue has been happening regularly lately and is getting very annoying. I have replaced the relays and it has not helped. It seems like the connection between the relay and the trim motor either has a short or is just loose. I am wondering if anyone else has had this issue and how they fixed it. My next step is to electrical tape them tightly into place to see if they hold.

Any insight will be greatly appreciated!

I am sure there Benett tabs. I would give them a call, I found them to be very helpful.

Make sure all connections are corrosion free. Wire plug and relays. Happened to me once. If connections are loose you can use a small screwdriver to pry each side of the female end to snug the fit. Also, I always keep small emery boards on the boat. You can cut them with scissors to the right size.

I am thinking the female connectors are too loose and I will try to tighten them up as you suggested. Man, that sounds dirty ;). I appreciate the responses guys! I'll let you know how it goes...I know one thing it is not going to be easy given the location of the trip motor.

Thanks!

I was able to use a small flat head screw driver to push the sides of the female connectors together and tighten the fit. For now it is working great! I appreciate the replies!
