I have a 99 Sundowner 245. Believe it or not, my original VDO dash still works great, unfortunately the paddle wheel sender unit is falling apart. Anybody know a PN or source for these?

The paddle wheel is showing as part number 31-603-4-41 under Four Winns' parts book on their website.

Let me know if you find one and how much they run....amazingly my vdo cluster is still working, except my speedo as my paddle wheel is broken off. I never worry about the speed though and if I need to know, I just use a speed app on my phone. I've seen them on ebay in the past. Outside of ordering from a dealer, I'm not really sure where you would find one. I checked with my local napa as they can get many marine parts (mostly engine stuff though) and they didn't have it. I haven't gone to my dealer as I'm not fond of them. It's too bad you can't pick up stuff right from the factory as I'm only 45 minutes away

From the literature I had with my 1999 Sundowner, I know it is an Airmar one. They used the Airmar P-32 from 2000, but that has a temperature sensor as well. I don't know if it's compatible with the earlier VDO dash, someone, somewhere must have the 1998-9 documentation ! I also had no issues with the VDO cluster, the speedo was a lot more accurate than my current pitot tube one, which only really starts working when I am well above the harbour speed limit !

Have you had any luck? I was doing some searching tonight a little and found this old thread. It looks like the paddle wheels are made by Airmar. I know mine is probably speed only, but from what I've seen, I don't think the S69 version is correct. It doesn't look like this.
