We had an awesome weekend!
Saturday: I worked until 7:30pm...after my 40 minute drive to the boat from work, my wife was there with the boat cooled and ready to go. I changed clothes, we untied and headed out. We met up with a friend of mine that was tied to 3-4 other boats and hung out, listened to music and relaxed until the fireworks show. After the show, we waited quite a while for the area to clear out before making the trip back to the marina. We got back at about 12:30am. After we got tied back up, we had a few beers with txvista and finally called it a day around 2:30am.
Sunday: Got up around 8, headed home to let the dogs out and get a couple things done. Then, back to the marina and we headed to a place we call "Family Cove" where I tied up with a friend of mine that has a 65' houseboat. Shortly after, txvista showed up along with a few others from our marina. I think all together we had about 8 boats and 50-60 people. It was an awesome day. As evening approached, we headed back in. Went home to again let the dogs out and gather a couple things. We headed back to the marina and cooked dinner with one of our dockmates..hung out and headed home.
Monday: We invited a friend and his wife out with us for the day. We went back to family cove and tied up with the usual suspects from our marina for more music, swimming, and fun. Around 6:30, we headed back to the other side of the lake to get set up for another fireworks show. One of our neighbors that had tied with us the day before and also Monday followed us over to watch the show with us. For the first time, I set up my new Magma grill and grilled some hot links and hot dogs. Awesome stuff! Finally, fireworks and a slow cruise back to the marina after most of the idiots got out of the area.
We put about $365.00 or so worth of fuel in on Sunday, burned quite a bit running the genny for so many hours both the time we were out. Money well spent!
My wife picked this up for me:
