ALTON, N.H. -- A boat launch on Lake Winnipesaukee had to be shut down Saturday evening after a pickup truck and attached trailer drifted out into the water.

Officers said a man was backing his truck up to the edge of the lake to load up his boat when the truck just kept going backwards. The vehicle floated until it filled up with water and then sank into 18 feet of water.

A wrecker company later pulled both the truck and trailer out. The driver of the truck suffered minor injuries in the incident. He told officers that as he was backing up and his foot got caught on the pedal.

Earlier this year I came back to the ramp after fishing. Noticed something white in the water. Looked up and there was a sheriff and DNR officer at the ramp. Some guy had backed his truck down the ramp and forgot to put it in park. It was a good 25 feet from shore. I actually drove around it and loaded my boat.

Felt bad for the guy. Just don't know how that happens.

There is a good scientific theory on how "that can happen". Pretty much it's because there's a few billion people in the world, and the combination of events that can take place is unlimited. As more people have video cameras/cell phones you're just going to see crazier and crazier videos on youtubes
