Gimbal bearing was very noisy so I ventured out to replace it.........................

Its a 97 7.4 Volvo dp on a vista 258

Was able to get the bearing out with a puller no problem but the seal is just stuck in there and the rubber is coming apart on me in little pieces.

Need your advice on removing the seal from there....... Whats the best way to get it done?

Am I missing something?

Thanks

I just changed my bearing and seal and used this tool from snap-on# PBMP24A. Don't have the exact size bar I used but can get it if you need it. It was nice because it fit behind the seal and I could adjust it in any direction. You may find it cheaper at harbor freight. Just don't go too deep with the tool behind the seal and gouge the housing.

Im useing a 3 legged puller tool the same I used to remove the bearing but it does not catch firmly enough and it slips through before it pops out!!

I may not be tight enough before I try to pull it out.

Place is very restrictive :-(((
