06 h190 with the 4.3 Volvo penta. While driving late the other night the engine just died, and would not crank over. You can hear the starter trying and it had a quarter tank of gas. This happened nice last year a month after we bought it from the marina and they said there was bad gas in it causing the issue and has ran perfectly ever since.

Reading up I'm wondering if either the fuel filter is clogged, or more bad gas? we have never used a fuel marine stabilizer and found many people do use and swear by this.

1. Where is the fuel filter and can I get a new filter from an auto parts store?

2. Any other thoughts or ideas? She only has 68 hours on a 2006. ?

3. Thank you in advance.. . .

Sean

You might check your oil level also...Sounds very similar to a story I just heard yesterday.

Probably not the issue, but always worth checking.

You will need to get a genuine VP fuel filter - it's not an auto type product, and surprisingly it's not expensive in the US - <$10. Get a spare as well while you're at it.

See if you can drain what gas you have left in it and replace it with fresh. E10 gas has a very short shelf life... In Oz I always use premium gas at it has no ethanol in it.
