Does anybody here know of a reliable agency that would handle boat / house exchanges for short periods? Reading another post here made me think that somebody with e.g. an appartment and a boat in Benidorm might want to spend some time e.g. in a house with boat environment in Florida. That would make boating in different areas almost affordable. Not sure I would trust everybody with the boat though (nor the house)...

What's your thoughts?

Ooooh tempting, very tempting!
I wouldn't go through an agency if I were you, to much risk. You would need to arange it direct with the person concerend that way you could check each other out. How do you fancy the UK? Pitty I just sold the boat.
And thats MY mate in Benidorm by the way, Not yours.

That is a great idea! I would be a little apprehensive to loan my boat out, but that seems like a great idea. We have rented houses from VRBO.com on a number of occasions, and always had it work out well. Never thought to look for a similar listing site in the boating world....

My thoughts Richard,,too many liability issues for it to be viable. Interesting concept though. I wouldn't trust anyone with my boat,,,maybe my house. I'm certain my marina would have no part of it either.

Hope I don't come off looking like a killjoy here

If you decided to get into it make SURE your boater's insurance covers such things. The last thing you'd want is for the renter to damage it and then have your insurance deny the claim.
