I've got a 08 358, and the blower recently stopped. My switches still light up, but no response from blower.
I checked fuses under captain’s seat. Are there additional breakers I’m missing?
Also does anyone know where in the engine compartment the blower is located?

Unlikely you have a fuse or breaker blown if the switch lights up. The blower is usually in-line. You'll find it in a 3 inch or so corrugated type hose. Check for power and ground with a test light if you have one OR tap the blower with a screwdriver handle with the switch turned on. If it starts up after you tap it, the blower itself is pooched.

On my boat the blower is attached to solid plastic pipes that are mounted in the engine compartment. The pipes go down between the engines and across the back of the compartment. I'm pretty sure the inlet is on the starboard and the blowers themsleves are on the port. There are two blowers, so a motor failure is unlikely. I don't think they both failed at the same time. There are two breakers under the seat, so again unlikely both are bad. There are two seperate wires from the helm to the blowers again, how do both go bad.

Did you check that the helm main is on?

You can also try turning on the blowers at the generator panel. That should help troubleshooting.

Yep, on the inboards my blowers are attached to 4" PVC pipes that lead from just aft of the engines out toward the gunwales, where they connect to flexible hose up to vents leading out. One on each side.

Blowers don't last forever, and they're not terribly expensive to replace. But it would seem odd to have an '08 burn them out already. How many hours on the engines? Have the blowers only been running when the engines are also running?

I'd wonder about wiring. It's entirely possible the connector for them has popped loose. It happens. The only way to be sure is to lay hands on the blowers and track the wiring back. I've not had to check mine so I don't know where the wires run. But given the general layout it's likely they run up the starboard gunwale to the helm. The schematics in the owners manual should show how many connectors are on the circuit for them.

My 348 doesn't have breakers or fuses under the seat. All of mine are down in the cabin; save for the main and windlass breakers over in the port gunwale locker for the main battery switches.

I just don't see how both blowers went out at the same time. I just lost my generator blower but use the helm blower to compensate until I get it replaced. Mine only run about $40 a piece.

There is a seperate blower for the gen? My 298 has a blower switch at the helm and one on the electrical panel. If I turn the helm blower switch on, the blower comes on AND the switch on the panel ALSO lights up. Are you sure there is a seperate blower? I am thinking you may have a bad blower switch at your panel?

I am pretty sure I have two blowers like everyone else and could have sworn I heard the second one come on whenever I hit the switch. Also, my blower switch at the breaker panel still lights up (I think) so I don't think it is blown but I have been wrong before. So you are saying the 298V only has one blower?

Well, since I have not physically looked for 2 different blowers, I cant be sure. I just assumed that since the cabin switch lights up when the helm switch is on, that the second switch is there simply to be more convenient. I guess I will have to see what happens the next time I am at the boat. I will certainly turn both switches on and try to see if I can hear a second blower kick on.

I'm pretty sure it has one blower. Although you can turn it on from either the helm or in the cabin next to the Generator switch. But its the same blower.
Both switches light up, so theres power to the switch. yet no response from the blower.
it only runs when the engines on ( and then only when were no crusing) odd that it would burn out to soon

OK, I did find the wiring diagram so this should help.
Looks like there are 2 blowers, but either switch does operate them both.

The 348 (so presumably also the 358) has two blower fans in the engine compartment. They're both powered by the same circuit. That circuit is powered through the "Helm" breaker. They both come on at the same time. There are two switches, wired in parallel. One at the helm and the other down in the cabin. Both switches do the same thing; power the blower circuit. The switch in the cabin is there for the convenience of being able to turn on the blower before you start the generator. It does not turn on a separate blower, just the same two blowers as powered from the helm switch.

2 blowers and 2 switches on our's also. When they are on, it sounds like a DC-3 on the runway.

My blowers stopped working when the FM200 in the fire suppression system was low. Check the pressure gauge and pressure switch.
