That's awesome. I'm getting a 288 next because the 248 feels like a jetski on the back of the mega cab. I want something that will make the turbo scream!

The truck is stock with the exception on the gauges I added. Pulls nicely. The trip to Myrtle Beach I averaged 9.5 mpg @ 60-65 mph. Truck seems to love being under a good load. 85K miles and other than an alternator just 2 weeks ago...no problems. Heck, I just replaced the original brake pads @ 83k miles.

I'd bet that your trailer weighs close to 1000 lbs more than mine too. I'd love to see how my truck feels with a 288 hooked up. I averaged (truck is brand new - 2000 miles so no where near broken in) 13.5 mpg @70-75 mph with about an hours worth of stop and go through nyc. It's pretty damn funny passing sports cars on I95 with the vista in tow.

The factory trailer for the 248 Vista is listed at 16000Lbs. I would imagine JV's trailer being an aluminum I Beam saves a little weight but I'd say it's around 2K or so? I wish my trailer was an I Beam.....

On the original post.. I have trailered my boat 20 miles on the highway only to knock the tip of my VHF antenna clean off while going under an overpass... Oh.. and I once pulled down a 10" (around) branch of my neighbor's tree with my canopy.

We all learn... I slip every year so my wife and I have got the routine down (blower, start-up, water, power off, cords off, front lines, aft lines) pretty good. I bet that's a hard thing to do if you are transient.

I'm going to guess you never forget the plug though...
