Oh my! That is a beautiful place. I don't think I could stand leaving that place. Looks like you had enough cold beverages based on the coolers filling up your bow area.

thanks all, i absolutely love Powell. defiantly one of my favorite places on this earth!

Xavid, yes plenty of cold beverages. there is even 2 other ice chests inside the boat as well :). think for the 4 of us we had 14 30 packs of beer for the 10 days we were there. the hardest part at Powell is getting the ice to last. one trick we have learned is to wet a towel and drape over the ice chest.

Obie, always a good game! you were really close on most of them.

1. close, mile marker 99 against the south wall just before the entrance to Moki Canyon
2. campsite inside Moki back in the left hand side canyon towards the back of Moki
3. mile marker 77 looking down lake from the rincon
4. fifty mile coming out early morning from last night of camping
5. Davis gulch the name of the arch is "lagorce arch" (Escalante arm)
6. another shot of "Lagorce arch" in Davis Gulch (Escalante arm)
7. last camp spot in the waaaaaaaay back of fifty mile canyon (Escalante arm)
8. Rainbow bridge mile marker 49 (you know i've been there like 3 times now and didn't know about or have seen the dinosaur track, my son would LOVE that!) i've seen them in other places along the lake but wasn't aware of that one.
9. Defiance house indian ruins forgotten canyon
10. looking down from Defiance house ruins
11. Hobey Cat Beach at bullfrog, loaded up and bout to head home :(

the water fall picture is in the Escalante Arm. not to far into the arm to the right hand side as you enter.

That is one beautiful lake and the pictures are fantastic. I rented a boat there about 10 years ago with the family and we had a ball. As I recall the lake was quite low then. Is it still low? I've always wanted to go back and my wife and I talk about it a lot. I do remember the desert heat shining down on us. I also remember how clear the water was. Thanks for the memories!

Is it me or do I see something coming out of one of the jugs in the first picture?

Flyer51. full pool for powell is around 3700' this year it came up more than it has in years due to our snowpack being so high. think it peaked at 3660 this year. when i was there it was around 365?. with lake mead and vegas/california calling for water it will probably never hit full pool again, but it is nice to see it has gone up so much this year just hope they can hold it.

97_245_sd yes that is the spout to the gas can. the others are inside that particular one doesn't have that type of spout so i turn it and point it straight up.

interesting lake powell fact.... the lake has more shore line then the entire west coast of the US!!!
