First post here. I am looking at a 2005 Horizon 210 and am trying to find out where I could get a trailering cover for it (thinking ahead). The boat has the factory bimini top with the short struts in the rear which I assume are for lowering the bimini top while trailering (otherwise, I can't see any other use for them)? I am having some difficulty finding a trailering cover for this boat as most of the sites I've visited seem to skip over this model year for the 210. After some research, it seems that the 2005 Horizon 210 is the same boat as the 2006 Horizon 220? At least the physical specs on the FW website lead me to believe this. In addition, the picture of the 2006 Horizon 220 in the FW catalog (on the FW website) is the exact same picture as the 2005 Horizon 210 in the 2005 catalog (again, on the FW website).

Would the cover for the 2006 Horizon 220 with the small struts fit the 2005 Horizon 210? Does the trailering cover fit over the bimini top when it is in the down position (using the small struts)?

Since I would be purchasing a custom cover and I don't think returns are allowed, I want to make certain I purchase the correct one. Thanks in advance for your help.

Correct. In '06 all of FW's model numbers increased by 10. I can't say with certainty that a 220 cover would fit a 210, but I would expect so.

Welcome. Where will you use the boat?

When I had my H200, the cover had notches to go around the bikini poles/short struts and the cover does not go over the bikini, even with the short struts in use.

Thanks for the replies. I would be using the boat in NC lakes near/around Raleigh (Falls Lake, Kerr Lake, Lake Gaston, Jordan Lake, etc.)

aguyindallas - so a trailering cover (I am looking at a Westland) would have cutouts to go around the short struts instead of going over them? I know the snap covers work this way but if that's the case for a trailering cover, it doesn't make sense that the Westland covers would specify the short struts. If there are cutouts in the trailering cover so the bimini top remains outside the cover, it doesn't seem that it would matter whether you used the short struts or the long struts. The Westland cover I am looking at specifies that it is for the 2006 Horizon 220 with the short struts. That suggests to me that the (trailering) cover would fit over the bimini top (when using the short struts) instead of having the bimini top fit outside of the cover.

I may have to try and contact Westland for the answer to my question.

To clarify, I was referring to the factory snap on cockpit and bow covers, however, I would assume that the cutouts would be there for the Bimini top too.

For anyone who may be interested, I ended up getting a Westland trailering cover for my boat. The 2006 Horizon 220 w/short struts fits my 2005 Horizon 210 w/short (bimini top) struts perfectly. The cover fits over the bimini top when it is lowered using the short struts.

I would like to see some pictures of those "bikini" poles. I prefer those over short struts.

What did you end up paying for the cover?

My total cost for the Westland Sunbrella cover, straps and quick cinch was $472 shipped. If I remember correctly, that was after applying a $20 discount he was offering at the time. I purchased the cover from Mike Taylor at http://www.baldmikes.com. I had a very good experience dealing with Mike and would recommend him to anyone. He also sells Sharkskin, Sharkskin Plus and Sharkskin Supreme covers.

Can you please send a pic of your new cover on over the Bimini? I'm in the market for a new cover and I really like the idea of wrapping the entire boat up, including the Bimini. Thanks

It will be a while before I can do it. The boat is currently off the trailer getting bottom paint removed and gelcoat work. The trailer is completely disassembled getting cleaned, painted, new brakes, springs, etc. Once the boat and trailer are back together, I will send a pic.

I apologize for not posting any pics of the cover on. I had forgotten that I said I would do this. I will try to get out to the boat this week and snap some pictures. Meanwhile. here is a link to my thread on the work I did to my boat and trailer after I purchased it: http://www.smwebhead.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=9537
