Sorry im new to the forum, just joined this morning. I havent figured how to post a picture. I would take a pic of the button and show you. This button is located by the laynard disconnect switch. The button is a button like whats on your dash, it says Trailor on it. I think it has something to do with raising the lower unit out of the water when you trailor the boat but i havent had the oppertunity to use the boat yet to find out.

Yes, it's to raise the drive unit.

I can't post the link from my iPad, but go to the main forum page, click on Forum Issues...inside there is a photo posting tutorial thread. Take a look!

Welcome aboard by the way!

Trailer button under the throttle actually raises the lower unit all the way up for trailering...the trim only takes is so far up and the trailering button kicks it up the rest of the way. Newer models FW only have the single switch.

It's a safey to keep you from kicking the unit all the way up while under power, which can cause damage to the couplers in the drive and/or bellows (rubber boot that surrounds the drive linkage).

Also (no offense), but if your a boat rookie - it's suggested to lower the drive unit when you store the boat...this keeps the bellows from being in a bind for a long period of time. That can cause it to wear pre-maturely. Just do something so you remember to raise it before you hook up to it to haul somewhere.

Thanks for the info on the button. I kinda figured it was for that reason but like to make sure. All info is welcome here. Not new to boating but new to this boat. Thanks again for all your info. would anyone know what horsepower a 5.7 l GL Omc Cobra would be. its a 1997. I keep seeing different hp ratings but cant pin it down.
