The cabin is like a bowl and venting just doesn't happen.

CO Alarms are CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP....and are essential in boats, RV's and houses. Be thankful you have never seen someone die like that and hope you never do!!!! Be safe and have fun....OH, those cookies are a must too:)

They only tore the lights off so they may still work but I need to replace them anyway just to be safe since they are 11 years old.

We went to the lake this weekend for the annual club Christmas party and stayed at the boat on Saturday night. Here is our setup for the cockpit during the winter months. Open up the companionway door and turn on the cabin heater and the space heater and it stays comfortable in the cockpit area. Next time, I will bring the cockpit carpet up to the boat and that should help too.

Sunday morning and about 35 degrees outside.

Went out Sunday afternoon to run the engine on the boat since it hadn't been started in about 3 months.

Never even considered the possibility of putting her in the water since Medina Lake is so low. Here is what the cove at our launch point looks like:

Where we took the picture should be under water!

Just over 50' low ....

How much of this is winter draw-down and how much is drought? Either way, not a pretty picture.

Medina Lake is an irrigation reservoir so by contract they have to let out a certain amount of water regardless of rainfall. The drought hasn't helped either. Last year the lake level got to within 12' of full but it's been dropping steadily ever since.

You guys up north don't feel too bad I live in Miami and the weather conditions have been horrible lately! Winds have not been under 15 knots with this cold front lingering over South Florida in weeks. I have been in withdrawal from my boating fun so I opted to do some preventative maintenance. Pulled the props and drained the gear oil out of the outdrive(JEEZ IT SMELLS SO BAD)!!! I ended up losing the drain screw and wouldn't you know it I had to special order it. If you guys haven't pulled the props make some good use of your downtime take them off grease them up and drain your gear oil. I ended up buying two quarts of gear oil at West Marine for 15 dollars a quart YES I GOT RIPPED OFF! I needed a bit more than 2 quarts so I went down to walmart and they had the same quart of oil for 7 bucks I felt robbed. Hopefully I have some new pictures to help you guys with the long winter.

Every Discount/Autozone carries outdrive oil. Mobil 1 Syn gear oil. $10/qt. Better then anything West Marine carries, and you can't put dino oil in VP, has to be Syn.

Not that it really matters but do you have a face shot of the chick wearing tiger print and sporting a camel toe?
