I was wondering if there was a way to gauge accurately the diameter of the main table leg on a Vista 238 from 1998? I am in the process of making a smaller sized table just for a cup holder but I don't have access to the boat until sprint. The diameter I need is the table leg hole on the floor in the cabin or on the back deck. Id like it as accurately as possible because I am going to buy my own 1 foot long aluminum tube and want to make sure its very secure. I have read a few places (though not on sites speaking specifically about a Vista) that the table leg is 3 inches in diameter. Thanks for your help!!

On my ex 1998 238 the legs screwed into sockets on the deck so the actual diameter of the leg might be irrelavent as its the thread size you will need. I will stand being corrected though.

I will measure my cabin table leg this weekend.....I don't have the factory cockpit table.....and yes it is a threaded leg into the bottom fitting.....but you probably need to know the upper portion diameter that goes into the underside of the table, right? I'll crawl into mine this weekend--it's on the side of my house....it's a '96 238V, but essentially is the same as a '98

Ok...I finally have the measurement of the table leg.....it is 1 3/4" O.D....the metal table leg that is.....it fits into the rubber boot on the underside of the cabin table in the V-berth.......the '98 should be the same......hope this helps!!
