Just got back from the show, way too packed. :(, especially since we went with a 3 and 5 year old. I waited 15 minutes just to g aboard the FW V375. I liked the Chaparal 33 footer.

Enjoyed the show on Saturday. I agree that things were a bit crowded but got time to spend with friends dreaming of warmer weather.

Did get a chance to speak to Roch Lambert who spent most of the day in the booth. Very nice gentleman who is interested in the customer experience. Still like our choice of owning Four Winns.

Confusing thread........

I believe Blue Dragon was talking about the Toronto Show being crowded.

I'm glad the Chicago Show was worthwile though. Waiting for a call back from SB at the Oshkosh location about a boat deal we are discussing, won't hear anything back from them until after the Chicago Show is all wrapped up. I hope there were alot of boats sold.

Wonder where the Toronto Show pictures are........ :?:

Sorry, I missed he was in Toronto. Nice to hear 2 shows that were busy. Heard several boat deals being done. Are things on an uptick? Hope so.

We went down to Chicago on Saturday. Skipper Bud's biggest boat they brought was a 29 footer...Seriously??? Most impressive boat at the show in my opinion was the Formula 40 pc. the cabin was huge. But even with the 287,000 boat show discount  Yes that's right a 300g discount, it still was SLIGHTLY out of my price range!!!
I was not impressed with the 41 Cantius or the Prestige 440s.
No pics. Saturday afternoon was jammed!

Yeah, would have liked to see a larger FW. I guess the cost of booth space at McCormick Place is crazy and I look at it that most of boat show sales are the smaller boats. Its not like a few years ago.

I did like the Cantius 41 more than the Cantius 48. I agree about the Prestige 44. Amazing what 500K + can but these days!

We went to the Chicago show on Saturday. It was pretty crowded. They seem to be focusing on 20-25 ft bow riders . There were not many large Cuddys in attendance with the exception of Formula, but there was a nice selection of Cruisers. I noticed less Deck boats than in previous years.
The food was passable, and the beer was cold and in 16oz cans.
All in all it was a fun day.

Formula cuddy was $192,000 !! I'm sure they had a show discount, but I fell overboard when I saw the list and didn't ask. The 16oz beer was used as a calm me down...

Cap'n....don't hold your breath for the salesmen at Buds in Oshkosh. We have had a great deal of experience with them. I would suggest you hound them if there is a boat you truly want. Customer service is horrible. You will need to be tough with them from the start otherwise they will treat you like a doormat and be deceptive. And that is not just MY opinion.

Yep, quite familiar with SB and their antics. I have given them a half dozen chances to sell me a boat, but they have just never been good at working with the customer. I'm just looking, and will let them make another attempt at selling me a boat. I know a couple salesman at our local SB, and that will most likely be who I do the negotiating with, rather than Oshkosh.

Speaking of boat shows. They had a little flood at the Atlanta Show. Here is the video.

Chicago show reports attendance boost

Quote:
Total attendance for the Progressive Insurance Chicago Boat, Sports & RV Show increased 7 percent despite slower days Thursday and Friday because of bad weather, the National Marine Manufacturers Association reported.

The NMMA said 35,402 people attended the event, which ran Jan. 12-16 at McCormick Place. The show switched its date pattern this year, moving from Wednesday-Sunday to Thursday-Monday to take advantage of the Martin Luther King holiday.

I saw the Formula 40PC at the Atlantic City Boat Show this weekend and, as you said, it is very impressive. I actually liked it more than the 45PC they had across the platform. A truly fine cruiser.

I'd better stop fantasizing about it before I talk myself into calling the dealer.

You must be vertically challenged. That 40PC barely has headroom for a 6'1" person
to stand up. Not enough for a boat that size and price IMO.

Despite what their specs say "max. headroom 6'9", look at this video. Capt Steve is about 5'8" tall.
Look where his head is in relation to the ceiling when at the galley.
