Wow - these pics are amazing & have scarred me. I have just sent link to my wife & said that we 'must' do this trip.... she agreed. :-)
Will now start planning when & how. We live in Sydney, Australia so we will need to rent a boat - any suggestions?
Cheers

Blackdiamond, you can rent pretty much any type of boat out there at Powell. if you come for a long visit and don't want to shore camp then defiantly look into the house boats. then pull either a run about or a couple jet ski's to explore and play on :)

I went one year in 2004 or 2005 came home bought a boat the next year and have gone back atleast for 1 week every year since and it's no where near getting old for me even the same places. it's truly a magical place!

check out this website for PLENTY of info!

tons of info on the message boards and lots of helpful people over there as well.

good luck with the planning!

Hey Blackdiamond,

I am in Sydney too, can you put me in your suitcase??? What a great place to visit. Makes me more than ever want to go to the USA. A awesome as Sydney is, that place is amazing. Mind you we do have other great places in Oz. There would be so much to see in the USA though.
