Any thoughts on this boat? Asking price seems like it might be a little high.
I guess it has around 40hrs on it.

I've been looking at 248s and 268s but this one just came up on my radar.

The boat is at my local dealer. They always advertise higher prices on line. Call Jim Rigby and set up a meeting.
They are great people and will work with you. I have seen the boat, and it is a gem.

So I take it you are looking for a trailerable cruiser?

Yes I am. These 278s are making me drool, but may be more boat than I want. I need to see one in person.

I've been talking to a Ryan at this dealer. Going to set up a meeting maybe this Saturday. They have a few boats I'd like to take a look at.

Good for you. I have worked with Ryan for several years when looking for our 268 Vista, and he actually brokered the boat for us when we were trying to sell it. The 278 is a great entry level cruiser. When you compare them to the 248, make note of the added cabin space (cockpit dimensions are the same) and the added room you get in the cabin in a 278.

The Grand Rapids boat show is only a few weeks away, and that is the best time to get a boat. Your best chance to get a better price on what you want, whether it is from Hall's or even another dealer.

If you are in the West Michigan area, also stop and talk to Adam at North Shore. I have bought two boats from them and they are fantastic to deal with. If you go smaller than a 278, you might consider one he has in stock. A 2008 Sea Ray 240 Sundancer. Basicially a new boat and the
listed price is very attractive. The boat is optioned out nicely with a 350MAG and BIII drive., AC/Heat.

Here is a link to their website, the 240DA is on page 4. North Shore Marina He also has three older 248 Vista's in stock.

We are currently shopping for our next boat too, and it is a good time of year to do it. Good Luck !

Thanks.
I looked at the Sea Rays and didn't like the layout. Going to try and make the boat shows for sure.

Same thing we determined. We were looking at a 240DA compared to a 258 Vista. We liked the 258V layout much better, and were ready to pull the trigger, when a 268 came along that we just could not pass up. The rest is history....

I felt the same, the layout could be better.

I too really wanted the V278, but ended up with a V258. Both are the same boat in the cabin as to the layout, but a little bigger. For me, I loved the U shaped seating and the extra space on the deck. My boat has 2 benches seats facing each other. My boat was a dealer left over from "07" with 11hrs on it and at 54k, it was too hard to pass up. I bought it a year ago, last Novenber. Since it was the same size as my last boat. I was able to keep my trailer and save the money on buying a new or used one.

I am planing to sale my boat in 4 to 5 years & pick up the V278. After paying down some of the loan. For the wife & I, its a great size and I can trailer it.

Yes the U shaped seating is probably my favorite feature. That the reason I'm looking at the model years that I am.
I wish they would bring that back on the new models.

I stared looking at the 248 and 258s but there are not a lot of them out there for sale. So I started searching the 268s which led me to the 278s. At this rate I'll be checking out the 328s soon.

I went from a '04 225 Sundowner with the U-Seating to a '04 268.

The U seating is a great feature, and we love it in the 268 also.
