Where did you buy and what was the size of the carpet you put in. I am saving that project for next year.

Very nice work, you're lucky the rot stopped where it did, that was a much easier repair than the one I had! I wound up having the deck 'glassed and gel coated so I was able to get rid of the carpet, which is what causes rot in the first place (holds moisture, keeps the deck from drying out). Of course replacing the carpet is a lot easier and it looks great too.

Looks fantastic!

How hard was it to paint the bottom? How many gallons of paint did you use? How did you prep the bottom for painting?

Thanks for sharing.

this is the link to the carpet i purchased these guys know their stuff i feel they were competitively priced. and do not hesitate to ask them questions about colors and trying to match up your original carpet. they will also send you all the samples you need on short notice. I honestly believe this is the closest replacement to factory you can buy, four winns used a 24oz carpet through the 90s. the carpet is sold by the foot, and its 12ft wide i think i did a 12 by 10

Painting the bottom was a bitch, but in my opinion it was well worth it, it really gave the boat a clean look. i had about 4 Mexicans and myself we used painters scrapers (2"} and scrapped the old black stuff off, it took about 4 hours with 4 of us. then we hit the boat with acetone to remove any dust or stuff like that it took about 30 minutes with 4 of us. i used one gallon of the paint and got 3 coats and i still have enough to prob do 2 coats where the rollers are. i price shopped the internet and made west marine match the price, then i used a 10dollar coupon on top of that so west marine 220, i got it for 170. u need to use 1/8 inch foam rollers (they were hard to find) to spread the paint thin to get maximum coverage

I actually listed this boat for sale last week, i found a 260 in Kentucky i would like to make an offer on

Thank you 8) for the link to the carpet. The widest I found was eight which was fine for previous boat I had but on this one I didn't want any seams.

no problem, you will really enjoy doing business with these guys make sure you request a sample of anything that even looks close to what you want to match because the internet does not do the colors justice
