We are planing to mount a TV in this location this spring' after years of fighting over to have or have not. My question is where did you tap the power from? I was thinking the outlet on the galley cabinet but not sure how to run the wire from the rear bulkhead to that outlet. Any thought

Brett sold his 248 Vista a couple of years ago and hasn't visited much since but ours is mounted in the same place. I simply cut the plug end off of the power supply to the tv and hard wired it into the outlet that feeds the 110v outlet in the head. We have an 1800 watt Xantrex inverter hard wired into the 110v system that provides voltage to that outlet when away from shore.

If you don't have an inverter/Genset you may have to pull 12v wires from the engine compartment to the space behind the medicine cabinet which is not too hard, to feed either a 12v tv or a small inverter to power that tv.

Was the head outlet eassy to access, what trick or pannel had to be removed to get to the outlets power source? I plan on only installing it as 110v only.

It's very easy to access the outlet and back of the bulkhead!
FIRST- make sure you have no power being fed to the outlet, or boat for that matter just to be safe.
Remove the screws to the medicine cabinet and you have access to the back of the outlet box and the back of the bulkhead you are mounting your tv on. Feed your wires thru the back of the outlet box. Then remove the outlet cover and outlet (2screws) and make your connection to the outlet. I used electrical eyelets crimpted on the end of the tv supply wire to make sure I had a good connection under the screws. Wrap the connection screws with electrical tape and reassemble. Good luck!

Now I see my confusion; I wish to install on the bulkhead over the mid-berth. I was trying to get the wire to there.

If I get a swivle mount and can secure it when the bout is in motion insatlling it against the head bulkhead would work, Though it woul be visable from a larger area over the mid berth.

If your boat is like my boat, a V258. You are trying to mount it under the AM/FM radio, right??

Pull the radio out, just so you can get in there. Notice were the remote wire runs to, under the helm. I don't know your boat, but you should be able to pass a 14/2 wire (marine wire) from the wall were the throttle is. Than under helm & though the hole were the remote goes to the radio is. I would mount a clock plug behind the TV mount. Clock plugs are recessed. From the wall were the throttle is, you could go into the engine compartment and hard wire it to a outlet in the stern. Myself, I would pull out the outlet in the head, & fish the wire to it. It can be done, I did just that to pull a wire though the boat for the windlass. Then wire it to the load side of the GFI.
