Congrats Cap'n!! That's a gorgeous boat! Some of our favorite boating memories were on our 190 Horizon. It's hard to beat the ease of trailering and huge cost savings your going to see with that boat! Maybe we should start a tread titled "What lake will we see Cap'n Morgan on next"..... :D

Albeit it, NOT what I expected to see you get, its a great boat. Monterey really does a LOT of things right. Best of luck!

Put the Hardy Dam basin, inland waterway in Cheyboygan, Torch lake, and all the other fun lakes in the state on the list. Your new boat is perfect for exploring. Also you can run up river from Grand Haven and come play in the quarry.

Nice boat!

Nice boat!

Don't forget the Les Cheneaux Islands, Potagannissing Bay and the St. Mary's River. These areas are a great place to explore with a small trailerable boat. Come on UP.

When you do Hardy, let me know. I was slipped at River Ridge for 4 years. Lots of local knowledge to share with you.

Cap'n Morgan,
Really nice looking boat. 180 degrees off my guesses. This is none of my business, but why the shift from a very comfortable express cruiser to a day cruiser? Are you keeping your slip? Do you have some extensive road trips planned? Chain of lakes, Inland waterway, Grand Traverse Bay, Gull Lake, Silver Lake and a thousand more day trips are just a short road trip from you. Have fun and I'll be looking for you, Dan

Cap'n, sorry to hear of some developing problems. That's not nice at the stage in your boat deal you were at.

Hopefully your issues are not the result of a marine surveyor (assuming someone is surveying your 282 Monty) being exceptionally critical in his/her evaluation?

Mike.

This is not the case. Having known about this deal since January and Capn keeping me up to date as the process went on. My take is the Monty dealer has all good intentions. But how they have handled some small issues as well as forgetting to inform Capn and Mrs. Capn of a few idiosyncrasies that would go on during the trade of their 282 to me is unacceptable and not how a well managed dealer should operate. As well as the unwillingness to return and email or phone calls at certain times in this process. Jerking him around would be a little stronger use of language. I hope it all works out in the end as I know Capn wants the boat...

"My take is the Monty dealer has all good intentions" - Based on your email it sounds to me that the dealer's "good intentions" could use some "good" improvement.

Mike

That's the same treatment I received from that same dealer last month in regards to the purchase of a trailer. I feel bad for Cap'n cause no one wants to get jerked around on something they really want. I finally gave up....it's a personal policy of mine not beg people to take my money.
