I've seen testing of the Optimas (Consumer Reports?) and they always test as 'average'. I pulled my deep cycle out of the boat and put it in the boat with a trolling motor, and replaced the FW battery with a good starting battery.

I'm going to be adding a second battery for running the helm power, stereo, primary bilge, etc., isolating the 'dual purpose' 750 CCA/ 120 AH battery that came with my Horizon 200 for the starter and back up bilge. I got the second battery, a type 31 875 CCA/ 225 AH dual purpose battery from Fleet Farm for $65. It has a two year replacement warranty with no pro-rating. Not a name brand, but if it perfoms ok quite the deal. Once installed, I'll start a new thread with pics.
