On my 2008 220SS the alternator has to be the easiest part in the boat to get to. You take out two screws, take the tension off the serpentine belt by way of the tensioner unplug the plug in the back of the alternator and tap base at bottom upwards with a rubber mallet a little and she is out in less than 10 minutes if not less. I would definitely rebuild the one you have. Way cheaper

Amazon has that style (Mando) for under $100 shipped too. My '00 3.0 VP takes the same one.
