I want the coolteak really bad on my H180's swim platform/inside floors but I can't justify the $1000+ cost!

I know the cost is high and that is a big drawback. I bought the boat at almost half the cost it was worth and couldn't turn it down and was able to justify putting money into the boat and put in what I wanted which I am glad I did.

I am so looking forward to getting the boat on the water. We have had a mild winter here in New England and the weather is starting to hit 60's here and there. Boat in the water in another week and a half.

I keep my boat outside on the dock, I can't install my carpet because it just gets soggy and nasty. Will the nu/cool teak stay good outdoors?

Ric,
The nu-teak is fine outdoors. There are no issues with it that I have heard. I did talk with the rep and he mentioned to me that it is very durable in the sun (it can get hot), but it actually turn a little darker as time goes on and it does not fade.

+1 on the carpet getting nasty and soggy!!!!!! I took my boat out twice with the brand new carpet and hated it! Something about that carpet and salt water was not mixing and it was a pain to get the smell out of it. I trashed it the third time out and have not looked back. I cleaned up the gelcoat underneath and it has antiskid on it which was actually really helpful. I am not sure what I would do different than my current setup but that teak really looks great! Awesome job!

Have you looked into Seadek? http://www.seadek.com/?gclid=COe3it6Pq68CFUbe4AodDkKmWw

Not as good, but can be custom made or you can do it. For a lot less. On my last boat, I had the boat's logo routed into the pad.
