Getting the itch.....

Just replaced the risers, manifolds, seapump, plugs, wires, rotor, cap, belt......and a bunch of other stuff.
Fixed my air conditioning condensate issue. Installed a new shower sump and routed the condensation line to the sump!

Need to repaint the outdrive (again), re-paint the bottom, new zincs, new control cable, wash-wax-splash! Hopefully mid-May.

How's everybody else doing?

We are ready to go. Genny repaired, new plugs, raw water pumps, out drives serviced, new carbon monoxide detectors, added vents to the cockpit fridge for better air circulation. The admiral has the bed all set and the whole inside of the boat wiped down to her satisfaction :D

Even had the marina fiberglass shop wheel and wax it.... Too much real estate for me to tackle

Launch date: May 4th, 8:30 am. Hope the weather cooperates.

Hope everyone is getting close....

Don't be jumping the gun so soon, you probably don't want to be a fleet owner.

Here is a fridge vent for your "future" reference.

Back to topic.... This is the first year in at least 9 years we are 100% ready. No waxing needed, no bottom painting needed, no boat maintenance needed, no gas needed, no waiting for the boat to be launched out of storage and the marina to open. All we need is some warmer weather, and a cooler full of adult beverages. In the meantime, she sits here and waits, albeit impatiently.

Oh come on Cap'n, you serious, you really don't miss bottom painting? :)

My wife and I after work yesterday drove 1 1/2 hours (3 hour return trip) down to our boat just to get about 3 hours of time in to apply 2 coats of VC-17 antifouling paint before sunset. Got my second coat completed about 8:35pm just as I was having difficulty seeing exactly where my fresh lines of paint ended from the darkness setting in. The weather in the last week or so has not been to greatest so we tried to take advantage of Wednesday's warmer evening weather to get the bottom paint chore checked off our list.

Shrink wrap comes off this weekend and hopefully we can get some waxing time it.

Our boat should get splashed May 7th - May11th. It will be nice to get her back on the water.

Mike.

We've had our 268 bottom painted, hull polished to a brilliant shine, and dropped on the trailer ready to go for 3 weeks....if only the darn thing would start :( I've got a pricey little ECU on order that will hopefully take care of that...if it doesn't I may be looking for tips on how to properly scuttle a boat. The only thing helping me keep my sanity with this whole ordeal is the weather has been crappy so we haven't missed much.

I pulled our boat out of the barn two weeks early, only to have the weather turn. Haven't been out yet. Boat is raring to go.

Canvas is 303'd and Eisenglass spotless, fresh water system sanitized and full. Engine and genset fire right up. I've been guarding to be sure bliss36 doesn't yonk my engine!

We're nearing a splash date. It's been an expensive pre-season, what with:

new Progressive Dynamics charger
AGM batteries,
new cockpit and cabin carpet,
replaced the bellows,
replacement of leaking seals on the outdrive,
new bottom paint,
new 24" led tv,
new dvd player,
new to us grill, and
pinstriping and rub rail repair.

It's an expensive habit, but it'll all be worth it the first time my feet are in the water, the sun's setting, and I'm sipping a frosty beverage.

Good luck to all, hoping for an early splash and a looooooong summer.

I'm about to pull it out of the water to get the hull cleaned/waxed, windows tinted, and outdrive checked. Carbon Fiber is on order so I can finish my new gauge cluster. It's already been a hot year and been using the boat A LOT this year.

My boat's getting launched next week, and I can't wait. The bonus of having heated indoor storage is it's so easy to prep the boat, with no praying for nice spring weather. Who cares what it's doing outside, it was always nice and warm in the storage wharehouse!

- I just finished the waxing, boat looks great, but my arms are noodled, must admit!
- installed 4 new cockpit speakers, the Clarions were breaking up, replaced them with Kenwoods.
-installed underwater LED lights on the transom, very eager to check them out in the water.
-changed out all the drives anodes, used magnesium as we boat only in fresh water.
-waterpoofed all the canvas, and had the clear windshield sections replaced.

I'm ready!

Well after bottom paint, both drive bellows and gimbles replaced, wash and wax, and some other minor stuff I put ours in on St. Patty's day. :D
