how do i remove this

Well we are getting our boat ready and i found a wet spot after washing the boat, aftet tracking it down, i found out it is coming from the horn grate. How do i go about removing this, and what should i do when i get it off to prevent it from leaking again. Thank you in advance for any advice you can give.

It looks like it originally had a type of plastic or material that would keep the water out, but it appears to be rotted out

If it's like mine (and it looks identical) it just pops on/off from around the edges.

Yup. Just be careful not to scratch up your gelcoat. My horn went bad and it comes out with a little work.

well i tried to get it off, but it seems to just want to crack, the question i have is does your guys have four plastic prongs holding it in, or does your horn come out with it. My hole for the horn is only about 1/2 the sized of the external grate that govers it.

The cover comes off separately. I haven't tried removing the horn itself....
