Don't see too many H180's with a 5.0L V8. This boat will fly !!

someone splurged when they bought that thing new. I don't feel bad for asking 12 for my H180 anymore. Every one I've seen is 12-13 with any engine.

Wow they are getting $12K for a 180 Horizon ? I have a nice 1999 180 for sale !!! Just kidding about selling . I only paid like $14000 new with the 190 Volvo Penta V6 . It looks pretty good for being 13 years old. The only problem with it is the stupid speedo which hasnt worked right since new. Stupid VDO clusters, what a poor idea those were. Mine looks just like the picture , same color and everything..

Looks very much like my 2001 H180. Bought mine in 2008 for $12,000.
It has the 5.0 GL engine, carpets, bimini top, canvas covers, extended swim platform, and a galvanized trailer. The only major issues I have had are with the junk gauge cluster.

I have a 1994 H180 with the 5.0L V8 and after this boat I don't know if I could go to a smaller engine on the same size boat. Everythign now comes with 3.0 as standard.

+1 I have the 5.7 300HP and wish I had the 8.1 you never downsize you always want more no matter how much you say you love the fuel economy and it runs side by side with your friends more powerful boat albeit at WOT while he is at half. Bigger is better when it comes to these boats in my opinion. Considering the newer engines some of the 4.3 liter engines make just as much horsepower as a 5.0 from 94.

That is very true. A 5.0GL makes 220hp. The 4.3GXi makes 225hp. Fuel consumption and speed wise they are identical and the weight difference is like 30lb.

Personally I'd rather have the 5.0gl, throw $1000 in parts from your favorite Jegs catalog and you have 350hp. Combined with thru hull exhaust? yeeaaahhhh

was lucky enough with mine (19') to find it with the V8 5.0 but then again I'm up at altitude so that might have something to do with it.

now thru hull exhaust.... mmmmmmm that would be nice.

Ric,
Post a shopping list for the 5.0 GL. I have a Summit and Jeg catalog on my desk as well.
Thanks Rob

A $1000 for an additional 125 hp? Holy crap. Sign me up!!! I've got 320 hp now and can only image what it would be like with 425!!! I won't be able to sleep tonight thinking about all the possibilities!!

A GL is easy to upgrade, they are carb'd engines.. It's MUCH easier to go from 220hp to 350ish hp then 320 to 400.
