The ONLY thing I wish my 248 had that the 258 has, is the solid fiberglass surround on the back seat. Us 248 owners are very limited to the size of name we can put on the back since the seat backs are vinyl.

(Unless I had it embroidered into the seat.....) :)

We named ours 'Have A Day.' It all goes back to when my (older) brother and I were kids. We went downtown (chicago) so that he could go to the orthodontist. I was quite excited t be out in the big bad city and was telling everyone we ecountered to have a nice day. Eventually my brother told me I couldn't tell everyone to have a nice day, so being the smarta$$ little kid I was I started telling them all to have a day. He then told me that was fine as long as I didn't tell them I was with him. So the day ended with me telling everyone to have a day and then pointing at my brother and saying he's my brother.

Great names!! My dad loves Mental Floss! Cattail, let me know if/when Last Call goes up for sale - perfect next boat. I like that name too, I've seen at least one but the font/size you guys used is outstanding.

Brett - the only good thing is that we can pop off our little hatch and take it straight to the graphics person.

Our 378 is named Lime Cutter. Love those Coronas.

I wanted to name ours "psorosis of the river" but the admiral veto'd it.

So, being Irish, we ended up with "Irish Wake".

My better half named ours "Whatever", her famous last word.

I named my 298 after my late mother, Julianne. Her nick name was JuJu so that is what is on the back of my boat. However, I would change it in a heartbeat to my business name if I could write-off gas and maintenance like fjcat wants to do. Sorry mom.

It's extremely unlikely the mere naming of the boat would qualify for any sort of audit-survivable deductions. That and you'd probably run up against local signage regulation and permit costs.

We thought about naming ours "Bill'able Ours" because we both do work that's billed hourly (and I'm Bill). But that might be a bit of a 'slap in the face' to any clients we bring on board. It's one thing to make a clever joke, it's another thing to rub it in their face, y'know?

So we named it 'Nauti Naughty' instead. Yeah, it's silly when squawking it out over the radio, but the only time I've needed to do that was to call the Coast Guard during a storm. Hell, I'll say whatever silly thing I have to if it means getting help.

I wanted to name her "Slimy Bottom" but for whatever reason my wife was against that name. "On the Hook" is what we named her since we enjoy anchoring out on weekends.
