LOL! We are all the same personalities as far as the boats are concerned! I was just looking at a 2007 278 Vista that was quite appealing. Not sure if I want to go that route yet

I thought about going Vista, but I'm just not ready yet. No kids, not married. I still want the sexiness of a sport boat that can do 50.

Busted!! I figured it wouldn't take very long for someone to notice my CL add. Actually, I do have a boat in my sites and will be inspecting it tomorrow. I know I have mine listed a little high, but I wanted to feel the water out there considering there isn't much competition for mid to later 2000 vintage Four Winns. After an hour of posting last night, I received a very fair offer from a guy in Detroit. The problem is that I don't want to be in the same position as Ric and be boatless if the one I'm interested in doesn't pan out. Another party began asking questions this afternoon via email, so I'll just keep answering the responses and hoping for a reallly good offer.

The other delema I have is the boat I'm looking at is priced $12K above NADA, which really sucks. I'm just hoping with a cash offer, I can bring him back down to earth.... :)

If the deals don't work out with selling or buying a new one, I am certainly happy and content still with my current boat. It will be really hard to let it go if/when the time comes.

I have a guy in Detroit who has the cash and is wants to pick up my boat today for $24,500. However, I really was hoping to get at least $26,000 considering I'm not desparate by any means to upgrade. What are the thoughts on that offer for my 2007 H210 with 130 hours?

I was thinking of countering for $25,500 and not taking anything less.

The other issue is that he will likely walk if I don't except is offer today since he found another one in Ohio for $24,500, but it is Black and doesn't want that color and is the 5.0 vs. my 5.7.

Thanks

Can't beat money in the hand if your boat shopping. I let my 268 go for less than I was hoping for....but it was the right choice. Its nice being able to jump when you find the right boat.

I agree with firecadet. It is a bit of a pain being boatless mid summer, but nice to have the cash to jump on something you like, instead of loosing out on it while your current boat isn't sold. I went through that when we bough our current boat.... missed the one we really wanted by a week.

for $500 on a $25,000 deal, I wouldn't hesitate.

I took a little less then what I wanted, but in the end what's $500-$1000?? Nothing. I still made out okay and now I have the money to buy my next dream boat and the stress of selling is gone.

EDIT:

And the stress of buying is worse LOL

You could usually rent a boat if you need a fix in the interim....

When we wanted to move up, we ended up selling our 30' Doral Prestancia by private sale in July.

Because it was mid season in our area I bought a small used 14' aluminum boat and used the 9.9 hp outboard engine from our inflatable, bought a tent and put the aluminum boat in our boat well that we had already paid for. Our marina allows overnight camping on the river bank. So we could still get a bit of a boat fix in while we searched for our next boat. My wife and son thought camping was ok, but some of those mid october nights got real chilly. :) It was fun though.

We ended up purchasing our 328 Vista the following spring. Glad we took the time to look and find the right boat.

I agree about the cash in hand. That will now open the doors for you to purchase anywhere you want and sellers would love to close on a quick deal with you.

Mike.

Well, I did my inspecton of the boat I am after and discussed the offer currently on the table for my boat. Here where we are at:

An offer was made on the boat I want and he is discussing it with his wife as we speak. I offered $7,000 less then the asking price. I expect him to counter back with an offer of $5,000 less then asking...

I tried to get the offer on my boat up to $25,000, but the guy balked, so I countered again that I could remove approx. $500 worth of items such as the spare tire, on-board battery charger, the amp and 4 of the polk speakers. I figured those items totalled approx. $500 anyway and I would need to buy them for the new boat. He seemed good with that as long as I left no visible holes in place.

Once the deal is done, I will share pics of my new boat.

Now I am just waiting.... Pretty hard to actually get any work done with all of this going on :)

Glad things seem to be working out for you.

So when do you take delivery of that 2013 Formula 350 CBR ? World's largest bowrider, and
a bargain at $265,000..
