Or one more for possible consideration.....
Huge cuddy, and great cockpit seating in a fast stable hull.

I like the way you think Capn... You don't need an 80s/90s Miami Vice speed boat to go fast. The modern cuddys go just as fast, cost pretty much the same, and are WAY nicer.

Just something to think about too, PQ's are no longer made, so some boat specific parts may be difficult to find. Cuddies like the Monty and Cobalt still have factory support if needed. Don't get me wrong, I would not hesitate to get that 240 or 260 PQ if the deal was right. But personally, I like to have back up's to consider, just in case.

Agreed. You personally opened my eyes up to a few more boats (Monty and Chap) and not just a FW, but unfortuantly they're even more rare. I could probably pick up that 'looks like it sunk at one point in it's life' 228 SIC with the 5.0GXi SX with no trailer for probably 10k if I haggle. I just haven't approached him yet because I fear that it might require more then 8k worth of work to be minty. My father's marina is literally 2 miles away, I could keep it there until it's ready to boat the 4hr journey to mine.

Wow. A lot of boats sure did just come available over the past 24 hours. That Cobalt is pretty sweet.

I'm feeling a lot better now about all the options that are starting to pop up. If anything, it sure is giving me some leverage now to work some prices down when I finally find the perfect ride.

You're lucky... boating season is almost over way up north. Here in Florida it's in full swing

Choices are always good to have. Keeping your options open, may indeed give you some leverage whan negotiating.

Agree 100%. The Cobalt 263 is a luxurious boat, their use of Kevlar in the hull and composite transom construction, as well as the cabin/cockpit materials and fit and finish overall, is top of the line. And as you can see, their resale is good, and they hold their value very well.
I know several Cobalt owners, and they always mention how outstanding their support and customer service is.

It is amazing what August 1st does to the boat sellers here in Michigan. They have about a month to unload i or know they will probably have it until spring.

Good luck tonight with the 260. I too have seen it on the water and it is a nice ride for sure.

Well, I took a look and ride tonight. It's not the fastest cat on the lake, but certainly fast enough for me.

Nice solid boat. Made a full offer on it tonight. Just need to write up a contract and get the seller to sign it before this one changes his mind.

Actually, it's at Keenan. Part of the deal is that he transfers the remaining in/out contract, as well as the heated winter storage to me. I believe he said he is paid up through June 2013. Nice a little perk if the deal goes through.

Nice sounding boat. I had forgotten on that model how small the cockpit is. Most space taken up by engine/sunpad and the cuddy.
That may take some adjustment depending on how big your family is, or how many friends you take out.

Good Luck !!

Wow that thing has as much room as an H170. You sure it's going to work out?
