PGWILLIAM,
That sounds like a very well equipped 268! My wife and I are on our 3rd season with our 268 Vista and couldn't be happier! We looked at just about every 26ft express cruiser out there and settled on the 268 because of it's great layout. It seemed like all the other 26 footers we looked at had too low of a ceiling in the head, and hard to access mid cabins.
With the 5.7Gi and a Volvo Penta duo prop outdrive our 268 cruises comfortably at 26-28 mph and getting approx. 2.0-2.2 MPG! If the boat your looking at has a big block v-8 it should get a little better mileage. If it has diesel I'm jealous!
We've had her out in many different weather situations and she handles about as well as to be expected from a 26ft express cruiser. If I had to do it all over again I wouldn't have wasted the year searching other 26 footers and just bought our boat right away! We love it! Good luck!
