Looks good.

It's amazing how much better looking and sounding a fresh set of Polks make. I replaced the sony junk speakers that were in my new boat as well on Saturday. The head unit was pretty pathetic as well. It was a newer Alpine unit that had ipod hook ups and a remote, but it only had 18 watts / ch. So to keep it simple, I bought another Alpine that was basically the exact same unit, but with 50 watts / ch. All I had to do was pull out the old one and plug in the new one. Took literally 1 minute to install. So for about $230 OTD, the new speakers and head unit improved my sound by 100%.

Fresh polks sound amazing, I loved them on my H180.

The radio has 100 settings I really gotta read the book, but I got it so it cycles colors on the buttons slowly, and the display stays solid. The bluetooth feature is worth it's weight in gold. I can never go back to wired now. It's still rainy and muggy but on a cool dry evening I will route the external mic to the helm for handsfree calling.

The radio doesn't output as much wattage as the Kenwood did but I knew this going in, it's going to need an amp to really drive the Polks to their full potential but I'm not going to worry about a class D amp until later down the road after I get the warranty transferred and the trim fixed. The papers and checks are in the mail it's now just a waiting game. I think I'll take it to the detail shop friday to get it done up pretty and also take off the stupid tribal side graphics and better looking ID #'s. Maybe get the windshield tinted 15% black. When it hits the water it's not coming out for at least a month or 2.

Looking at the http://3kingsaudio.store.buy.com/p/new- ... 78897.html

Not a bad price for a class D amp

Having a fun time getting the warranties transferred. I got the stingray one done (hull) but the volvo penta extended protection one is kinda a run around. I finally found the right place today to finally get it done and mailed the $40 check. Good until 5-22-2014

The trim pump is the bad 1st design, so 99% chance it's failed. $680 for the whole new redesigned setup but the warranty should handle it no prob.. VP would probably do it out of warranty if I bitched

Inspected the boat after today's wannabe hurricane. Cabin a little damp, water leaks around the front of the hatch. Figures. The screws are tight but I can see a little gap on the outside on the front between the boat and the hatch. Time for some 5200?

I'd use 4200. All it should ever see is rain water and the ocassional wave/splash. 4200 should do it.

Make sure you tape the spots you don't want the 4200 on. The stuff does not clean off like your household caulk and it will show.

Just mask it off like you would a wall you are painting, then be sure to peel prior to the sealant hardening. if you taper it well enough it will look perfect. If you do not it will leave a little "ledge" where you removed the tape.

I took the hatch off and made a small bead all the way around the hole and bolted it back in place a few days ago. Big rain storm today, inside totally dry.

Also repaired a few broken snaps on the cover with the west marine kit. Kinda cheezy but does the job. Wanted to make sure all the snap were secure cause it's going to get a lil windy sunday evening, maybe 30mph.. higher in gusts.

I'm TRYYYYYYYYYYING to get it fixed by Labor Day weekend. If the warranty doesn't go through until tues-wed and the shop doesn't think it will be ready by Saturday for pickup I'll hold off on fixing the pump until the following week. I'm not missing labor day weekend. The drive goes up/down... in like 30 mins :)

Sending positive thoughts for your *new* boat and a great holiday weekend. Unfortunately, it's looking like rain here for all but late Monday...

Going to need it. They already tried to quote me money for warranty work. I had to remind them its covered even though I printed out and handed them a copy of it.

Alright cool, everything's straight. They are installing the new VP SX-A trim pump kit (revised edition) but it won't be in til thursday/friday. They're open til 3pm Saturday so he said they'll try their hardest to get it to me for Labor day weekend. $25 co-pay! I'm never buying a boat without a warranty ever again!!
