Just got out of the boat and the bilge pump won't turn off. Tried the switch obviously and popped the bilge off the base but nothing. It stays on when I turn the battery off and all I can think to do to save the battery is unplug it but I hate to. ANY fast suggestions????

Float stuck possibly?

Sounds like your float switch is stuck on (assuming you have one). Maybe some debris stuck in it?

Float switch is stuck for sure. I've had it happen to me too. Tap the switch, not the bilge pump

Pulled the pump and switch. The switch was fine but there was some kind of seaweed/hair/cricket nest in the pump. Picked it out and blew the lines out, nothing like practically French kissing the bilge hole early in the morning.

Back up and running but I can't look the boat in the eyes right now.
