Not me. I just use straps from "Rod Saver" i think is the name. I'm not overly concerned with straps, at least not getting fancy or spending a lot of $ as Mental Floss is going to come off the trailer, there isn't much going to keep her on her trailer. At 12500# wet, straps and/mounts have a tendency to fail. I originally had eye bolts screwed into the bunks and attached the straps there. I forgot to remove them one time and just the boyance of the boat straightened out one eye bolt. The other pulled out of the wood.

Definitely different thought for a smaller boat where the load is withing the ability of the straps to keep the boat secured well to the trailer.

I'm seriously considering adding them this winter. You typically have to drill holes in your trailer which has kept me from using them until now, but I'm getting tired of moving straps back & forth between the boat and the truck, untangling them, etc.

Where does the strap go when the boat is not on the trailer? Does it just hang there?

The strap roles up into itself like a seat buckle does in a car.

Apparently, boat buckles are good enough that they come standard on the 2008 Four Winns trailers...

Are the inards stainless? If not I could see a corrosion issue quickly, especially in saltwater. Regular straps can be a pain with tangles and all, but I'm a firm believer in the KISS principle.

Talked to my dealer today. Four Winns is welding a metal tab on trailer to mount the Boat Buckles for the 08 models.

I think I will drill my frame and use silicone sealant around washers to prevent corrossion and rusting

I bought the stainless steel ones on west marines site on clearance for pretty cheap and I will tell you I would not turn back they are awesome

Has anyone mounted them on an existing trailer? Like stated previously, the only way is to drill a hole in your trailer. I suppose stainless hardware and a 3M sealant would be recommended, correct?

Still on my to-do list. I'll probably go with the stainless, but still haven't gotten serious about it yet.
