Don't think I will be speeding this weekend. Ouch!

Edited to add: not that I have to worry about those kind of speeds but it still makes you think about the responsibility we have as captains.

He did not look like he knew what he was doing. His throttle slams were stupid at best and dam sure didn't match the waves.
He sure went down like a test dummy though........

I don't know much about fast boats but are those even the throttle levers? When I had my Carver, I had the throttles (gas/power) to the right of me and the forward and reverse levers to the left of me. Maybe fast boats are made differently but I would never want throttles on the port side of the steering wheel.

298VISTA2000, thanks so much for posting that one. I've been showing that vid all day at my marina and we laff our faces off. Count the face plants the chick in the pink bikini gets.

That's a keeper!

What gets me is that the captain is the first one to plank (or fall). I don't know about you but I hold on to the wheel for dear life some holiday weekends. What a tool.

Edited to add (again): Does that boat even have a steering wheel?

Great stills. Good time for a safety lanyard.
The guy looks so calm as his head is smashing into the port grab rail.
And these guys are out there with us.

I can't believe they were all standing in a boat going that fast. No life jackets and no lanyard. They are fortunate. Thankfully only minor injuries. I'll bet the yellow bikini girl's face ain't as pretty as it used to be after smacking into the frame.

Sad fact is that anybody can own a boat. Too many people, like him, should not be allowed to. Next time it might be worse.

Regarding the throttles, Reggie Foutain is left handed and all of his boats are set up with the throttles on the left. That said the guy was a goof he never corrected for a port side wake and took it at the chine any go fast drver would turn to cut the wake.
Thank goodness no one was killed.

I hate idiots with fast boats like that. We about got drilled this weekend by a 28'+ Scarab. We were coming out of a no wake zone and this idiot was flying towards us. At the last second he cut it right and dang near sprayed us with his wake, that's how close he was. There was pontoon right next to us coming out of the same cove and he just looked at me shaking his head.

That's one thing I greatly dislike about LOTO. Idiots everywhere flying by you with their twin engine go fast boats.

The only good thing about being in retail and having to work holiday weekends.....I never have to be on the lake with tools.

The one time I was visiting KC/MO and was on LOTO, I was surprised by the number of big-ass boats on the water. On a holiday weekend, that place is a mess...

I avoid that place on regular weekends, and this guy is exactly why. They just get multiplied on holiday weekends down there. Enormous go-fast boats going speeds that you would never try, then add the traffic you see on that lake. I can't believe there are not more significant accidents on that lake every summer.

Driver looks like he might have had a bit to drink the way he goes down with minimal response. Yellow bikini chick's bottom/back half was her best asset anyway (see still pic) so if her face is messed up too bad she's still not in all that bad of shape.
