29ft is do-able if you're single with the occasional sleepover :)

Most marina's have storage units (at least here in FL) where you can put all your crap close walking distance to your boat. And if you're lucky to get a slip next to the showers you don't have to use your boat's head unless your lazy or it's rainy.

Shop around. There's also marina's not very well suited for live-aboard that make life really tough that are really just adult toy storages. My father's marina has his storage building 30ft from the boat and the showers/laundry is about 100ft away. It's a famous spot for canadians and other northerners that come south for winter so it's built around the idea that most people live there with common areas, big holiday pot lucks, etc.

Please define "Canadian and other northerners" ric?

I think the correct term is snowbirds.

Besides that, a 29' is not do-able as a live aboard! Way too small! Thats way I am looking at a 34 to 42 trawlers.

Nah, that ain't the correct definition, here it is:

Snowbird: Any person or persons, aged 60-90, whose primary residence is in New York, but due to lack of tolerance to cold, winter in Florida (primarily Ft Lauderdale). The Snowbird can be found on golf courses, beaches, and Buffalo Wildwings restuarants. The Snowbird can be easily recognized by their blue shortpants (cinched up to above navel), black socks, sandals, NY Yankee's T-Shirt, and ridiculously oversized sunglasses. Some may be adorned with a ballcap blazened with advertising for said Yankee's or their favorite brand of beer. While NYC Snowbirds are abudant, the Western NY Snowbird is more rare. The Western NY Snowbird can be found in any bar that shows Buffalo Bills games and serves Buffalo Wings (altho the Western NY Snowbird refuses to call them that, instead using the Buffalo correct term "Hotwings").

If a NY Snowbird is encountered, use caution when engaging in conversation, they have been known to bore a non-Snowbird to near death with stories of children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and assorted family that all seem to be having kids, getting married, first communion, and/or graduating school.

Send those canadian women down to florida. They just don't make em down here like they do up north. I think the hotter climate over cooks them while they're baking.

There is no way I could live aboard. Luckily my dad has the past four summers and man did he save me a lot of money. He has a Carver 506...huge boat. Three stateroom, three bath, fully enclosed bridge with heat/air. He is ready to dump the thing. He can't stand it any longer either. It is a big as s boat and a fricking tiny house.

Our next boat will be a 40' - 45' sedan bridge but for the weekends only and occasional week trip.
