My 2000 268 when I adjust the power trim on trottle last time while running at 2500 rpm the motor cut out like a dead short soon as stopped power trim fine again Any ideas :?:

Can you elaborate more?

Does it work now all the time, or only when idling? Just up or down? Volvo or MC?

This can be a bad battery cable connection. In particular, check the ground and positive connections at the engine end of the cables.

My guess would be Merc, never heard of it happening on a V/P. Its power related, could be as simple as the wires to the battery, low voltage condition or needing a tune up. When you hit the switch too much power is being drawn away from the ignition system which is why it dies.

Thanks funny enough I had engine lid off and wiggled batery terminals just before this happened so will check there to start

Best shuman what a great summer we had with boat [only a couple of scuffs ps use rubber gloves when useing hull cleaner]
