...and when I asked to see the title he said he owed 20 something thousand on it but would "pay it off" once I paid him and would have the title in 30 days?

It's back!
http://daytona.craigslist.org/bod/3998877958.html

Last year it was in showroom condition, now it looks all beat. Must have been left outside uncovered. Glad I didn't get it, it's cabin is almost 2ft shorter than my 215 ssi. Still like the cockpit seating better though.

Well, it looked like it rolled out of the showroom. It had like 40 hours in a garage it's whole life. Now the gelcoat is all faded. There's no coming back from that.

Ahh , How long ago were you looking at buying it? Did it fade out that fast.. That't a bummer.

Last summer, before I purchased the stingray. Yeah if you don't cover things here in Florida they fade that fast. You can high speed buff it back glossy but after that every 2 months it's back dull. That boat was fully optioned and showroom condition as if it was the year 2004. Even has the cockpit filler cushion so people can sleep outside.

Damn, best to invest in a good cover to keep the sun rays off the seats and gelcoat. Makes ya wonder if he just waxed it up real good before you came and looked at it. I wouldn't see why he would take care of it all those years and then just let it go to crap? Its a shame.

wrong... you are so wrong... look at my gel.. its mirror now.. yea i have about 10hrs of buffing into it but it was milk oxidation and dull looked like raw sheet rock but now its mint possibly shinier than show room.. unless the guy for example washed with bleach and never rinsed then you can always restore GEL.. no its not a 5 min project but it can be done.. look at my restore thread.. it can be done..

the pics look fine.. it needs a good cleaning and I'm sure that there is some OXY and it has not been waxed in a while both of which can be resolved.. also im sure if you had bought it a year ago in showroom specs that you would have kept it covered as 90% of us do.

+1 exactly, a day of work and that will be as new again
to me it looked very good, hell even that glastron next to it would come back to a great shine

Nope, the cabin on the 205 is much much smaller than the 215 ssi. Almost 2 feet in length and 6-8in in height. It's actually the same size of the Stingray I had, just taller.

The head of the HOA is stepping down later this year. After that I'm putting on the vote to allow up to 26ft LOA on the docks so I can finally get my 248 Vista.

I disagree. See the before/after pictures of my boat: http://www.smwebhead.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=9537. I had this done last year and it still looks like new.
