I am also trying to tint the glass on my boat [2007 H200] my installer tried putting the tint on [20%] but was having problems with the glass up against the dash, as he has to use a heat gun and doesn't want to melt anything on the dash. Did your installer take the glass out when they tinted your glass? If so did he take the top of the windshield casing off and slide the glass out? By the way I know this is not functional but it looks very cooool and I would like to see a pic of your boat out in the sun, looks great!!!
Carl- No the glass wasn't taken out of the boat. The guy that tinted the widows used the heat gun on the outside of the glass. That is, he placed the film on the outside of the glass and hit it with the heat gun, trimmed it to the right size, then transfered the pre-shaped tint to the inside of the window. I will take the boat out of the garage this weekend and take some detailed photos for you. Keep in mind that 20% is pretty dark. If there are any imperfections it will stand out with darker tint.
