It DOES sound the like the thermostat could be stuck open. Hopefully there is one in there to begin with. I'm guessing there probably is, though, if you got a reading at one point. Could be the 4 in 1 gauge. While I'd expect the fuel gauge to oscillate, I wouldn't expect the oil pressure, engine temp, or volt meter to fluctuate much at all. Something sounds wrong about that.

My 4 in 1 worked pretty well with the exception of the oil pressure gauge. It would oscillate and then just peg out at no oil pressure. Had me checking the dipstick all the time and I finally determined that I'd be getting an engine alarm if there really was a problem. At the end of the year, I had the stealer check it out and they found a bad connector to the sending unit. Hopefully it is better this year. Good luck and keep us posted. I'm interested to hear the answer to this one.

yep, my gauges are apparently fried. the Nav light turns on the backlights and that's about it. the clock doesn't even work. I used a multimeter and I have power running to the whole thing so I'm just gonna bite the bullet and buy a new freakin' cluster. I'm very excited about that. I really wanted to piss away 500 bucks before I even hit the water this year. Thanks for all the suggestions though, it is always good to have a little hope before you tragically hit the wall!!!!!

Paul,

I like it; maybe a mistype or one of those wonderful spellcheck suggestions: "I had the stealer check it out". A bit like the UK word " Swindlery", alluding to Chandlery and the excessive price of marine parts here!

Well, it doesn't sound good. Still, while you have chased the power, you might take your multimeter and check all the grounds for continuity. I know it sounds counter intuitive, but could you still have a bad ground. I'd start with the clock, no sending units tied into that one!

Was just reminded that this happened at the same time as your tower install. I'm thinking a ground wire got bumped or something.
