The problems with the shower sump and sink drains on the V358 are rather interesting in that it seems Four Winns went backwards with this design. On my 2004 378 Vista, the galley, head and cockpit sinks all drain overboard with each having their own thru-hulls.
The shower sump circuit breaker questions are a moot point as the shower sump breaker doesn't have a wire on the back at all. It is paired with the forward bilge pump breaker, so both the forward bilge pump and the shower sump operate automatically all the time or can be turned on manually when the breaker is thrown. I don't know where the shower sump and the forward bilge pump are located in the V358, but in the 378, they are about 6 inches apart under an access hatch in the cabin floor that also has the generator and a/c strainers and sea cocks.
The 348/358 has two areas in the cabin with pumps. There's the shower sump right in the middle of the cabin sole (floor) at the base of the companionway steps. The second one is underneath the center of the mid cabin seating. That one has the cabin bilge pump along with the genset and AC seacocks and strainers.
If I had to guess it's designed this way to accommodate plumbing in a grey water system. Lots of lakes totally prohibit ANY discharge. Everything has to go into a gray water tank (separate from the black water tank). On the 348 that tank fits under the starboard seating in the mid cabin. I don't have that option, nor is it required in the Chesapeake. I don't have a macerator either, and the use of those IS prohibited in the Bay, FWIW.
