Hi, H190 owner here. New to the forum. I am based in Brisbane. We've taken the boat on Somerset lake, but would like to take the family for a day trip somewhere on Morton Bay. Does anyone have suggestions for a nice trip. Nothing too far, as I want to introduce the family to the bay.
Hi there BrisWinn, and welcome to the Forum!
I live at Tweed Heads and often go cruising up the Broadwater and there are some great spots up there for cruising, swimming and picnics etc, I have been across Morton Bay to Tangalooma and the shipwreck when I had an 18footer with an outboard and lucky for us it was a calm day, because it is a long way across and the weather can change rapidly, I certainly would NOT recomend it for the inexperienced, saying that, I have no idea of your experience or family situation, but a H190 is not a big boat and Somerset is far far different to Morton Bay.
If you like that area you can travel from Brisbane down the west side of Russell island past Cabbage tree point and back up the Eastern side of Russell island past Slipping Sands and that would give you a full loop without seeing the same place twice, and its nice and protected, if you have kids they will love to have a slide down slipping sands, if you like water skiing then the only opportunity would be east of Russell Isle.
We mainly use the Broadwater for cruising and leave our skiing for Tweed River.
Hope thats been some help, Cheers Clarke!
