Now that I think about it, though, I can't come up with a good reason to drop the tower. We live in Colorado, where we get a minimal amount of snow and quite a bit of winter wind...but nothing that I would think could damage the tower.

If you store outside, just leave it up. I would recommend removing the knobs and allen bolts once a year and putting a little grease or oil on the threads. Same goes for the hinges. I know it's all stainless and/or aluminum, but it sure doesn't hurt. My boat sat outside for a year before I bought it. The hinges squeaked when raising and lowering and the knobs were difficult to turn. Added a small dab of mineral oil and everything works much better now.

Again - Thanks for the tip. I will probably experiment with it and attempt folding it just for the knowledge of how to do it.

I bought a 2004 Horizon210 and Scott at Samson Sports (http://www.samsonsports.com) was more than helpful in getting me a tower that fit my budget, looked good on my boat and most importantly, fit in my garage when in the collapsed position. The price is about 20% less than the FW version and I'm getting a few accessories so the price really is about 25% less. I found out that these guys do a lot of the manufacturing for the OEMs (Cobalt towers are sourced by Samson) so why not cut out the middleman and save some bucks?

I would suggest staying away from 'no name' aftermarket towers as often times they're weak at crucial points and require a lot of extra fees at installation time because they're just not designed for the boat.

I have a factory wake tower on my H190 and works great and love the look great. It looks similar to the Vapor Tower on this page: http://www.wakepromarine.com/Towers.html

Or if your strapped for cash you can do this   http://bierbower.net/diytower/ You probably won't attract the ladies as much...
