If you store outside, just leave it up. I would recommend removing the knobs and allen bolts once a year and putting a little grease or oil on the threads. Same goes for the hinges. I know it's all stainless and/or aluminum, but it sure doesn't hurt. My boat sat outside for a year before I bought it. The hinges squeaked when raising and lowering and the knobs were difficult to turn. Added a small dab of mineral oil and everything works much better now.
